We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join us as a Junior Analyst, Underwriting – Commercial.

Position Overview:

The Junior Analyst, Underwriting – Commercial will be an integral part of our underwriting team, supporting the evaluation and analysis of commercial mortgage transactions. This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an individual with some relevant experience to gain exposure to the dynamic field of commercial real estate finance. The successful candidate will work closely with senior underwriters, learning the intricacies of deal analysis, financial modeling, and risk assessment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deal Analysis:

    • Assist senior underwriters in the analysis of commercial mortgage transactions, including reviewing financial statements, cash flow projections, and property valuations.
    • Conduct thorough due diligence on potential deals, identifying risks and opportunities.
  2. Financial Modeling:

    • Build and maintain financial models to assess the financial viability of commercial real estate projects.
    • Collaborate with the underwriting team to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial analyses.
  3. Data Management:

    • Compile and organize data related to commercial real estate properties, borrowers, and market trends.
    • Maintain accurate records and databases to facilitate efficient underwriting processes.
  4. Research and Market Analysis:

    • Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting commercial real estate.
    • Contribute to market research reports and analyses to support decision-making.
  5. Communication:

    • Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including originators, closing specialists, and senior underwriters.
    • Assist in the preparation of underwriting reports and presentations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the commercial real estate finance industry.
