Position Overview:

The Director, Origination – Commercial will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our commercial mortgage origination business. This senior leadership position involves overseeing the origination team, managing key client relationships, and developing strategies to expand our market presence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial real estate finance, a proven track record of successfully originating and closing transactions, and the ability to lead and inspire a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Team Management:

   • Lead and mentor the commercial origination team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
   • Provide strategic guidance to team members, setting performance goals and ensuring objectives are met.
   • Cultivate a positive and high-energy work environment that encourages professional development and continuous improvement.

2. Origination Strategy:

   • Develop and implement effective origination strategies to drive business growth and achieve revenue targets.
   • Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify opportunities for expansion and differentiation.

3. Client Relationship Management:

   • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, institutional partners, and industry stakeholders.
   • Act as the primary point of contact for major clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.

4. Deal Origination and Execution:

   • Personally lead the origination of complex and high-value commercial mortgage transactions.
   • Collaborate with the underwriting and closing teams to ensure smooth and efficient deal execution.
   • Negotiate terms and conditions with clients, always seeking to optimize the firm’s position while maintaining strong client satisfaction.

5. Compliance and Risk Management:

   • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and risk management protocols.
   • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to mitigate risks associated with commercial mortgage origination.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial real estate finance and mortgage origination.
• Proven track record of successfully originating and closing commercial mortgage transactions.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial real estate market trends and financing structures.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and risk management in the mortgage industry.
